What is Powder Coating?
Powder Coating is a free-flowing powder that is applied using
electricity and then cured in an oven. During the curing process the
powder melts and flows out, resulting in a coating that is resistant to
most chemicals, weather, and is up to ten times more durable than
conventional paints.
What colors are available?
There
are thousands of colors and textures available. Many of these colors
can be seen in our extensive catalogs. Custom colors are
also available!
Our powder inventory is constantly changing so please make sure to
call or make an appointment to come by if you're curious about any color. Make sure to check
out our color charts for ideas and references.
Why Powder Coating?
Powder coating is more resistant to chipping, scratching, and fading
than any other finish. Car enthusiasts, professional mechanics, and
manufacturers agree that powder coating is the ideal finish for parts
due to its durability and flexibility.
Powder coating is also an environmentally friendly process that does
not require the use of harmful solvents like those found in liquid
paint.
What can be powder coated?
Any metal surface capable of holding an electrical charge and
withstanding 400 degrees Fahrenheit can be powder coated. Wheels, valve
covers, calipers, intake manifolds and control arms are just some of the
hundreds of items normally powder coated. We also have the ability to powder coat the polymer intake manifolds seen on the late model Camaro & Corvette with the LS-X Engine.
Powder coating offers superior corrosion protection for lawn
furniture, light fixtures, gates, and decorative items exposed to the
elements. Powder Coatings are also great for protecting shore house items. (railings, metal shutters, etc...) Some of our coatings have a 1500 hour salt spray corrosion resistance which means, if you spray our coating with a salt water mist constantly, it would take 1500 hours before showing signs of wear!
